1-2-3 Sundays: Struggles, Tattoos & Getting Back In Control

1 Theme

It's Been A Struggle

Since coming back I've not found it easy.

My energy has been low despite a relaxing holiday and time being switched off.

Wednesday morning was my first day back. I got up at my usual 5.30am and went about my day as I usually would. Come Thursday morning I felt done in.

I think it's a combination of the late flight home on Monday night, the expectations I've placed on myself and going too hard too fast.

Instead of going running on Thursday morning, I stayed in bed for an extra hour and a half—something which I'd never usually do. But I felt great for doing it. My body needed the rest.

What I Took Away Most From This Holiday

If you haven't already read my blog from Thursday covering everything I took away from Tenerife I'll leave it here for you to read.

One little thing to add is this was one of the best holidays I've had because it was so relaxing. The stuff we did as well, aligned with who Aimee and I are so it made it way more enjoyable.

I Got My First Tattoos

After humming and hawing for ages on whether to get one I decided to say "F*ck it" and just go for it.

Both Aimee and I got them done before we left Tenerife. They're not matching btw.

I'm chuffed with them.

My reminder to be present and enjoy the simple things in life
This one looked cool lol

3 Learnings

You Never Know Who You'll Meet

The tattoo artist obviously spoke Spanish but after a while, I didn't think he was Spanish.

Turns out he's originally from Uruguay, has a shop in Barcelona and is currently living in Tenerife.

I found this pretty cool because I've never met anyone from Uruguay - until now.

Do This To Gain Momentum

With my energy feeling a bit low, I knew I had to get out of my own head and spend time with other people.

I knew I had to take back control rather than let life happen to me than for me.

I caught up with Kieran and Becky for a gym session and a coffee on Saturday morning.

Chatting, catching up and pushing each other to work that little bit harder left me walking away with a big smile on my face knowing I had a great time with them.

Top Tier Breakfast Roll

Bacon and fried egg in a crispy roll - elite.

Are you a soft or crispy roll person?

As we get further into the year, I've decided to do a new challenge however the premise will stay the same.

Stay tuned to find out what 👀
